Tell me about your football career
For me, all through junior school I was stuck as a centre half because "you're tall"

With some mates formed a team in an u16 league, lost our first match 24-0 to Carpenters Youth Club but it wasn't my fault as I was substituted at half time when it was only 11-0.

From 1979 played 12 seasons for the same team in the Dagenham and District League. We went from division 5 to division 1 over the years but always promoted as runners up. We lost every cup final we got to so I had loads of runners up medals.

Played as goalkeeper, full back or right/left midfield, but not all at the same time.

What about you

Glen Rodent - I would have played against you at Senrab and possibly with you at Spurs.

Re: Tell me about your football career
I was the primary school goal keeper which was fantastic apart from the fact that I was pretty awful and so was the team in front of me We lost our first game 6-1 and we were lucky to get the 1.
Managed a team at the age of 15 a bunch of 10 year olds in a made up little league but we were pretty awful.
I think after the managing thing I realised taht the best place for me was as goal hanger in the park.

Hasans, I played in the same side as Tom for 3 or 4 years, but lost contact with him when he stopped playing for us. I think he moved out of Colchester.
He played up front and I was a similar size to him and mostly played on the right wing.

Re: Tell me about your football career
I played for about 4 kids teams and one year won POTY and the person who gave me the trophy was none other than Phil Parkes. I still have a picture of it from over 30 years ago.

Carried on playing until my early 20's and actually gave up after being dropped for going to West Ham instead of training, fuckers. Also i found little pills etc and that took over weekends.

I had a trial for Reading (yes i know) played for the county etc so was not a bad little midfield dynamo.

Loughton Boys reached the 3rd in 1982, lost 4-0 to Watford

Met Police FC = Fucking Animals, filthy cunts. they were worse than anything you would ever come up against in a Sunday Pub League.

I'm going back a few years when they were mainly serving officers.

Imber Ct though, very nice.

Penners… my MATE was there under Hoddle… absolute odd ball he reckons.. used to tell players that God spoke to him about them and whether they would make it in the game!

We used to play Southend Police (it was full of coppers) that was a GREAT fixture that we all used to look forward to… for obvious reasons… played for a few years mid week games in a league for Southend Transport… we used to play Chelmsford Prison… my mate could not work it out why we never played them at our place !

They used to be all Coppers. I knew someone that played for them. Then they couldn't get the time off so all changed

Re: Tell me about your football career
They always had very few serving Police Officers.

We have a local Met Police side... Superb facilities. Not one Policeman.

Anyone remember when the Met Police had a decent team?

Mind you I don't think there were too many actual coppers in the team?
